Betty Caldwell

Gramling, SC

Betty C. Caldwell, age 76, widow of Charles Caldwell, died November 21, 2008 at Spartanburg Restorative Care. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was the daughter of the late Nesbit and Audie Cantrell.

She loved to travel and fly airplanes. At one time, she and her husband owned their own plane and ran the Fairview Airport.

She was a retired secretary of Gramling Real Estate where she worked for 25 years and was a charter member of Gramling United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Bobby and Leroy Cantrell; sister, Geneva Hall and a nephew Tommy Cantrell.

Left to cherish many fond memories are her niece, Robyn Lanford of Columbia, SC; nephews, Johnny Cantrell of Inman, Jerry Cantrell of Valley Falls and Donald Hall of Boiling Springs.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00pm Sunday November 23, 2008 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Monday at Gramling United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will be at the home of Donald Hall, Boiling Springs.
